    Oh, the horror etc.:
I hate having to go into premiere or photoshop to make a simple title card.

A lot of Mac people are using the SubCap effect to make stuff like this.

Have you tried it in MC 2022.7 yet?  Much better.

The next release contains even more fixes.

We're truly sorry that the whole Titler+ transition has been a rough one, but we're in the process of making that better... Stay tuned.

This is a very unhelpful answer. The guy was pouring out his heart for a problem we all face. Your response was not called for.

Sorry should have just ignored it. The guy who said "Buy an old PC running windows 10 and get access to the old Title tool." in response to out Titler+ problems. His was a really bad insensitive suggestion to the ongoing and serious defficiency in Avid but I should have kept it to myself. Many of us just need a simple Tiltle tool text tool for scene missing and such. If we want something more elaboate there some really good third party options so I would never use Titler+

    Cheers

    Aah, understood.  Thanks for clarifying.

Completely separate conversation... but I was talking about titling to a student, and they had a response I didn't expect...  "Why would I do any titling in an edit system? I always just edit clean, and then upload the video and use TikTok or Instagram's speech to text for my titles."

Obviously a different industry and delivery platform than I'm used to... but still, an interesting perspective.

    Re: Alternatives to titler+ ?

    Hello,

I've been in deep problems when using Title+ for subtitling my 80 min documentary and I've been ready to through it out of the window several times!

Would this update solve those issues? Im on mac Monterey 12.2 and have very little left to do with my project - just export a last subtitles verison and my MC 21.12.0 has crashed 20 times for the last 2 hours.

Do I dare to download an replace it or does it effect my present project in any way (don't know if it can get any worse...)?

    Thanks for helping out!

    Kindly,

    Elisabet

Fot subtitling a movie I'd definatley use the subcap effect over the Titler even if the Titler was working well.

Its a massively better solution for subtitles as you can produce all the required text in a document with in out timecodes and add them all in one go.

    Much easier for changes later.

That would be one of my early responses. And I still stand by it as a suggestion. I ran a whole PC suite and needed Prores output options. The simple solution was to buy an iMac and use that for that task.

Many people in Post have to solve issues and many appreciate suggestions they may not have thought of.

Sorry my suggestion was deemed insensitive. I'm not paid to respond to posts for help I do so to try and help.

    I'll leave you to it.

I don't necessariy agree with this being an "insensitive" response.  This may be a case where email is lacking context.  If it was said flippantly, then yes I would agree.  But it really is a viable solution to a big problem.  While that may have seemed like an obvious (and stupid) response, I have made the same suggestion to clients who had not thought of it.  I personally have been considering getting a copy of Windows and setting up Boot Camp to do just such a thing.

    Oh, the horror etc.:

Many of us just need a simple Tiltle tool text tool for scene missing and such.

Both the subcaps tool and even the time code note text tool (my favorite) are viable options.

    Re: Alternatives to titler+ ?

Thanks for this but this shouldn't be this difficult ie using subcap or timecode gen to make titles or installing a boot camp of PC. Just update the old title tool for 64 bit. Titler + is a bust so lets move on. As far as the old title tool being upopular because it creates it's own media well drive soace is cheap now or figure something out. The fact that this has persisted for so long in antethetical to all of Avid assertions that it is the best NLE used by the best people in the industry. Get it fixed Avid. I for one have had enough of this converstaion. Thanks for all the great comments from good people here but Avid it is time to fix this.
