The media files of two different project got mixed up by mistake.
There’s around 200 files that would need to be moved from one drive to the other.
I can see the files that needs moving in my bins or the Media Tool. What would be the best way to move them back to the good drive without losing the link? I don’t want to go through “REVEAL FILE” for every single one of them.
What would be the best way to do that?
'Consolidate' is Avid's fancy word for 'move'.
If you have a Project A that is supposed to have media on Drive A, but there are a few Project A clips on Drive B, you can select the clips in the bin that are on the wrong drive and consolidate them from Drive A to Drive B. If Media Composer asks if you want to keep the master clips linked to the media on the original drive or relink master clips to media on the target drive, pick the target drive.
If you like, you can also tell Media Composer to delete the media that is on the original drive after it has been consolidated to the target drive.
So I'd suggest selecting your master clips that are on the wrong drive and consolidating them to the right drive.

I believe that Consolidating a Clip will change that clip’s “Project Association”, if different, (or add a Project Association if for some reason, there was none) so in this case, you probably want to be in the same Project that your stray clips were from... and do the Consolidate from there.

If these are Avid media files with MC it running you can reorganise at finder/explorer level (by date normally works)
Delete the media databases in any folders you change the contents of.
Relaunch MC and it will rebuild those databases based on the files it finds.

Thanks everyone.
I don’t know where my head was. After struggling to conform a show for 2 days & nights, I guess I was very tired and totally forgot about “consolidate” option. Time for bed!
There is a delightful app which does just this!
