Hi,
This is avid related but not directly within avid... I am trying to create DNxHD 115 op1a .mov files with an alpha channel to pass to avid and premiere pro. Any software I try to create these files does not pass a valid alpha in to the DNxHD .mov, it comes out with a full white alpha instead of the intended alpha channel shape. If I use an alternative codec like Animation QT or ProRes 4444 I see a valid alpha shape. I can then bring this QT in avid and when I import it, it imports as a matte channel and works as I expect. Does DNxHD/HR not support alpha channels? It seems to, since it fills the alpha with full white... but for some reason it does not maintain the shape created. I get this same behaviour rendering out of Nuke, Fusion, and After Effects.
Thanks!
