    DnxHD80 full raster

    Dear Avid,

We are using your Avid AMT and DNxHR/DNxHD sdks.

Our customer would like to encode into DNxHD80 full raster, because Avid said to them, that in this case it will be fully 1920x1080 raster instead of the 1440x1080.

How should I use your SDKs to create such a file? Should I use only the DNX_RGT_NativeCompressed with adding 1440x1080 image to the encoder?

    Thanks,

    Gyula Priskin

    Re: DnxHD80 full raster

    Hello,

DNxHD80 this is compression ID 1259 (thin raster - bit-stream always stored as 1440x1080).

As a DNxSDK user you have two options:

    - Set uncompressed rgt property as DNX_RGT_NativeCompressed and supply codec with 1440x1080 image.

    - Set uncompressed rgt property as DNX_RGT_Display and supply codec with 1920x1080 image. In this case SDK itself does downsapling into 1440x1080.

If you have a question regarding AMT usage, I'd sugest you to put question on AMT related forum http://community.avid.com/forums/353.aspx.

    Thanks,
    Viktor

    Hello,

Thanks, so as I understand the full raster version of the DNxHD80 is still the same codec with 1440x1080 resolution, right?

The difference is only in the MXF metadata.

    Thanks,

    Gyula
