Does Media Composer 8.4.4 Support AMA Link

I installed Media Composer 8.4.4 I need to edit some AVCHD footage and some P2 footage.  I go to file link to media there is no AMA Link under the file menu.  When the window opens after I select file link I select the folder with the P2 window hit ok and a window pop up saying unable to link any clips.  There is a messge at the bottom of the link window that says, Avid editing services are not running.  Please start services from the Avid Editor Services Manager.  Any assistance appreciated on this issue.

Re: Does Media Composer 8.4.4 Support AMA Link

Any reason why you've installed a version of MC that's nearly four years old?

I'd start with installing a more recent version, which will work with the latest versions of AMA plugins from Sony, Canon etc.

I'm not sure when Avid introduced  the Media Browser, but this is usually the starting point for linking (or importing) material. The browser will also show you what AMA plugin Avid thinks it needs, and although it often gets it right, there are situations where you might need to manually select the right plugin.

HP Z800, HP G3 Studio, SonnetFusion RAID, Mojo DX, Decklink 4K, Symphony 2020, JVC DTV1910 HD tube monitor, HP Dreamcolor, Avid Artist Color, Avid Transport... [view my complete system specs]
