How can you change MC software activation from one computer to another?
You deactivate on the system you no longer wish to use the application on via the AppMan. Then install the application on another system and activate via AppMan.
Then go back and forth if you wish to use it on both.

Log in to your Application Manage, from the licensing tab select the systems ID you need to deactivate.

Or if deactivation fails as it often does and leaves you with a corrupted license with no ability to transfer it to another machine (client). You need to then do the following;
1. Stop the following Processes in Task Manager: • AvidApplicationManager.exe • AvidAppManHelper.exe 2. Unhide hidden files and folders on your Windows computer. • (Windows 7 / 8) Go to Control Panel > Folder Options(Windows 10) Open Folder Options > open "This PC", click View and select Options. • Click on the View tab. • In the Folder Options window, choose View, select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives", and then click OK. (Or you can type %programdata% in any folder's address bar and hit Enter.) 3. Delete the following folders: • C:\ProgramData\Avid\AppManager\Cache • C:\ProgramData\Avid\AppManager\Db • C:\ProgramData\Avid\Licenses • C:\ProgramData\Avid\SWL • C:\ProgramData\Avid\Common 4. Launch (in this order) C:\Program Files \Avid\Application Manager\ AvidAppManHelper.exe C:\Program Files \Avid\Application Manager\ AvidApplicationManager.exe

Should this also work with Sibelius?
I tried these steps, but in Avid Link when on the (German) "Produkte" page after clicking on "manage devices" and trying to push the button "Deactivate" I get the message "Please go to the Licenses page in Avid Link to deactivate this license". I would like to do that, but I do not see a Licenses tab or page other than the "manage devices" page.
Alas, the notebook on which I originally installed Sibelius is defunct now and I cannot deactivate from there. Is there any other way to deactivate the old device?
Hi,

This is the forum for Avid film & video products. For Sibelius you should post here:

Hi mscheree,
Please pm the MC system ID. I will assist on resetting the license.
Thanks,
