How to color correct with two cameras in multicam (group mode)

I have grouped two clips together (from two different cameras) and the one camera has a red tint and the other does not, when i apply a color correction a section it puts a color effect on my whole sequence because they are not seperate clips...is there another way to do this?  I have about 500 edits going back and forth from camera a to camera b, and i really really need the one camera corrected.

    please help!

    Jana

Either use the color corrector for each clip you wish to change or step into the grouped clip to apply the effect to the nested shot. You can use the bucket in the color corrector to apply the same correction to other clips quickly or you can drag the correction to a bin and then apply it to a clip while in effects mode by double clicking.

Must think of something clever to go here...

Betreft: How to color correct with two cameras in multicam (group mode)

put camA (red one) on V1, color correction on V2 (or V1), cam B on V3 (and then just cut out B). When it is a one clip mix (always use iso for the second cam) make add edits and follow hbrock solution. Good luck

As I understand You have made all the edits. I would do this.
    1. make one master correlation and save it in the bin.
    2. mark all clips from the tinted camera.
    3. Dubble click on the saved colour correction.

If You will start the edit now, I would suggest You to put the tinted clip in a sequence and make the corrections. After that, I would groupe the corrected sequence with the other camera clip.

I am facing this same situation as well, with a Five Camera Multicam sequence. It would be nice to tell avid to apply x color correction all video from camera 2, etc. My timeline is already put together i am just needed to finalize things like color correction etc.

Also i though you could only make master clips into a group. Didn't know it was possible with sequences as well. (Pro 4.6 here)

Yeah? If sequences can now be used in group clips I'll eat my hat! Indifferent <img src=" src="/exchange/emoticons/emotion-8.gif"> And then start using them.

Your hat has nothing to worry about, it's not possible (yet, I checked it on 5.1.4 right now) Smile [:)]

But it would be a great feature, a lot of problems could be solved this way. I'll put it on the wish list.

No new tools for this in the 11 years since the last post on this thread.

Avid Xpress Pro, the product which this forum references, was discontinued years ago.

However, the Symphony option does source-side color correction, and it's a whole lot less expensive than Symphony software used to be.  It might be worth it for you, especially if you do many of these.
