Understanding "Refresh Sequence" and timeline adaptors ¿?¿?

    Hi,

My quesiton is very simple...whats the purpose of refreshing a sequence in 8.4 or later?

I work with avid at my work but we have older versions, now that they are thinking about upgrading, i read some new features for being prepared and read a lot of times when people have problems with color, motion or frameflex adpater that they recommended to "refresh sequence"...why?

Because i thought the sequence are refresh itself everytime when u change clips, or what u do anything on the timeline..

    Please, help me with that!

Re: Whats the purpose of "Refresh Sequence"

it's to update the sequence if you change it's settings.

e.g. if you edit 1080i material into a 1080i sequence and then change it to 1080p.

    hit refresh sequence->motion adapters.

now all clips will get a de-interlacing timewarp effect.

maybe my example was badly chosen, because efresh sequence->motion adapter is currently kinda broken (at least in 8.6, the a.k.a the perpetual beta version)

Re: Whats the purpose of "Refresh Sequence"

    Ty for your reply..

So, lets see if i understand well in this example...

I will Create a new project for 720p 25fps and import/AMA five clips...

    CLip 1: 1080i 30fps

    clip 2: 1080i 25fps

    clip 3: 720p 30fps

    clip 4: 720p 25fps

clip 5: pal with color space RGB 25fps

In my new timeline i will have several timeline adaptors for those clips that i imported like this:

clip 1 has to show adaptors for  Motion and Frameflex

clip 2 has to show adaptors for Frameflex

clip 1 has to show adaptors for  Motion

clip 1 has to show  no adaptors

clip 1 has to show adaptors for  Motion, Frameflex and color...

    Is that true as yet?

Now, if i change the project format, none will be change until i press "refresh sequence" and i will new adaptors for every clip..

Did i understand well the refresh sequence and timeline adaptor functions?

    Lukas Boeck:

now all clips will get a de-interlacing timewarp effect.

How can i show info about the deintelace mode? because avid has several ways to deintelace as i see in timewarp (deinterlace, duplicated, fluidmotion, etc...)
