We're primarily an Avid house, but have a couple of FCPX seats as well. The MCs work great with ISIS, but FCPX is very laggy. To the point that's is useless most of the time. What are the settings that need to be made to edit from ISIS on FCPX? Are there settings to check beyond installing the ISIS Client?
ISIS v. 4.7.4
MacOSX Yosemite
Read the Avid ISIS 5000 Performance Guide v4.7.7. It has some valuable info regarding FCPX clients with ISIS 5xxx. In general, ISIS 5000 performs slower with FCPX clients. Only media and not libraries should be stored on the ISIS.
FCPX performs best using NFS file system based servers.

Isn't libraries the way FCPx method for storing media? Or do users need to work with externally linked media?

There's no longer an issue storing the FCP-X Libraries on a Workspace; this was address in 10.2.1 FCP-X update. With 10.1.x this was causing an issue.
