    MC8.3 Error box

I just updated to MC8.3 on a MacPro tower (2011, dual quad core, 16Gb RAM, OSX 10.8.5) and randomly get these error boxes (as in the attachment).

I usually hit 'Contiue' and the system seems to carry on. I'm just wondering what they are?

    Thanks,

    Mark

I'm getting the same error-- but it's not occasional, it's every time I go to play a sequence.  I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina 2012.

Trashed MC State, no change.  Created a new sequence, no change.  It's only affecting a sequence, not clips.

Update: Seems to only be affecting older sequences.  Stuff I'd done under earlier installs.  My MC 7 Sequences seem OK.   Tried creating a new project and new sequence (then writing the old sequence into it), still getting this error.

Update 2: I've now isolated it to certain files (media clips).  Any sequence containing the offending files brings the error.

    Re: MC8.3 Error box

I'm getting some cool errors on My Macbook Pro (2.3 ghz i7, 10.9.5, 16 GB ram) - but one thing that is different about these errors compared to previous versions of avid is that they do not crash the program. I can almost always continue working, with these error popping up every once in a while.

I've had 5 of these 1144 errors since I started screengrabbing all my errors last week.

    error 1144

I had three of these 1146 errors since last week:

    1146 error

I've had 6 of these BOB errors, which can cause avid to crash. I run an ultrastudio express via thunderbolt and I did notice that the blackmagic software DESKTOP_VIDEO_MACINTOSH_10.3.2 was extremely unstable. I downgraded to 10.3.1 and had much smoother operation, but I still get these errors. In fact, I'm getting one now as I type this.

    bob error

and I get a "fatal error" maybe every 5 minutes in my record side all the time. It doesn't crash anything, but it is disconcerting. It seems to have to do with avid having trouble displaying a still frame when I stop playback, as it never happens when I'm playing, only when I stop.

    fatal error

Also, Is anyone else noticing very slow renders? Things that would take me approx 1 minute to render in 5.5 are taking 5 minutes in 8.3 (audio suite dverb effect)

    Re: MC8.3 Error box

    Hey jogotron,

I did not get the other errors but I did get the segmentation error trying to render a seqeunce track by track, because the EQ3 7 Band effect is taking forever to render, I'm talking hours for a 24 minute seqeunce. In a machine with 4.0.5 the same seqeunce renders in abot 2 minutes. Also, the loading time for opening bins that have sequences containing the EQ3 7 Band effect is over 30 seconds up to 2 minutes.

Any info on this is greatly appreciated.
