We have some video interviews which have in the background, an HVAC controller on the wall behind a person being interviewed.  Our client has requested we "brush out" the controller as it "distracts" the viewer.  Any suggestions on how to make something like this thermostat on the wall behind our subject disappear?

Is the shot static, as in stationary?  If so, you could just use the Paint effect and match the color of the wall.  If the shot is moving, you may be able to animate it as well.
