Trying to get a Windows7 fibre client attached to Unity in a Z800. I run the Fibre installer, but when Connection Manager launches it's the Ethernet client, not the Fibre client. How do I get the Fibre client to connect instead?
Install package was the MN 5.4 Kit and MN 5.4 Client.
Steps:
1. Install Atto Configuration Tool and flashed the card. Restart.
2. Install the 64-bit 2.66 driver. Restart.
3. Install MN 5.4 client, selecting Fibre Attached Client from the Launch pane. Near the end of install I notice someting about Avid Vista? something something Ethernet something...Restart.
On login, the Avid ethernet client icon "A" shows up in the toolbar, far right, showing Unity spaces mounted.
The Atto FC-41ES card shows up in Device Manager, and the driver update I did shows 2.66
Is there further setup required on the server side?
False alarm. Well, sort of, just confusing Avid interface feedback.
After discussion with ISIS support I found that the Fibre connection is indeed being used, even though the taskbar icon gives every indication that it's connecting via ethernet.
To test this, the support agent had me disconnect the ethernet cable. I also checked the ipconfig results to see all ethernet connections showing state Media Disconnected. I was able to browse folders and view media, as expected.
Not exactly straightforward, but it works all the same.
