Some forum members already told me to stop ranting about MC 6.0. After the release of MC 6.0.1 and a new Matrox driver version for mxo2 mini i thought: ok, i`ll give it a chance (I finally bought the software in november 2011 without having a chance to use it since then). First i was happy that the foreign keyboard settings are working like they should do. But when i hitted the play button or tried to scrub the timeline - UNBELIEVABLE. It´s not worth half the money i spent for this sluggish and slow performance. I cannot accept that both AVID and Matrox engineers are telling us that the performance issue is almost solved. NOT AT ALL - NEVER EVER! If you advertise a perfect team play between MC 6.0 and MXO2 mini - why the hell it is obviously not true?
I´m using it every day without problems, tons of projects, maybe time for that free support call to investigate this further, maybe also moving some cards to see if that changes anything, from memory I can recall that you was customizing your Matrox drivers regarding Adobe and Avid usage, is that still a fact , apologize if I remember uncorrect .
Tomas
No i did a cnew clean install - i recall that you are using the mxo2 not the mini version (sorry if i`m wrong)
Using a Mini Max as in the profile, have you tried with moving around your Pci-e card , any other cards installed ?
I´ve tried every slot of my machine, disabled mtx.utils - it`s always like riding an old horse. When i disable the Matrox mini, the software runs like a champ. Now i´m using this workaround - but soemtimes i`ll get the blues remembering the good old 5.5-times....

I cannot remember a command for that, where do you find that, the only way to disable the Matrox unit is to unplug it, you can also press the blue window in the bottom of Avid to turn it off.
Are you seeing problems both in green - green and yellow - green with the Matrox unit connected .
It relates to a former driver version:
Posting from Marianna from jan 12: On a system with the Matrox MXO2 Mini driver already installed (we installed 5.5.1) Path: C:\Program Files\Matrox Mtx.utils Rename the mveServerTrayApp.exe file to mveServerTrayApp.bak
I gave it a try with the new matrox drivers installed, with no results
Same problems in all modes. And btw - a z800 which meets all the specifications should do its job!
Sine Ver 6 you must enable the option "Use Fast Scrub" in the timeline setting in order to get the scrub speed you used to have in MC5.
Trimming, at my side, is still a bit slower then it used to be, but all other stuff including Color Corection is working as fast as it used to be in MC5
Working with MC.6.1.1
Sorry, but with or without enabling fast scrub - the scrubbing along the timeline stays sluggish. And i mean the blue line is jumping from clip to clip or hangs for a 1/3 second before moving. Same problem with playback. A fast and flawless work is not possible with Matrox connected

As you just cannot resist manipulating your system I would recommend a new fresh setup, that is anyhow what the Avid technicians are going to ask you to do when they here your story.
So, wipe it all, a new fresh bootdrive will be the best I think, then a clean install of W7 64 professional with correct versions of Quicktime and graphic drivers, then install MC 6,01,1 upon that, no other applications except for the Matrox drivers and keeping your fingers away from manipulating things.

Yes, indeed, if things don´t work well after that, it´s time for that support call, still without touching any system files before that call.

I gave it a try - i always went back to the original setup - so don`t blame me with that. It was you who asked me to try different slots beside the recommended slot configuration of AVID.

All my customers would be very happy about that, loosing a working day and risking to loose all my projects.
Just a fresh bootdrive, you will not loose anything and can always go back to your old bootdrive.
Considering the time you have spent on solving this problem it might be well invested time and money
Thank you for your help - i´ll try it
Good luck with it, please tell how it works.
Also just remembered, be sure to setup your videocard / Nvidia Control panel settings correct per the descriptions in the Readme, most important when you are using third party hardware .
Or do I recommend a backup image of your system disk. In W7 it works very simply. As I wrote on the forum, the latest patches MC6.0.1.1 and Matrox6.1.0.99, the new W7 install, works very well. V.
