I was deleting some clips from my timeline when the above error cropped up.
Assertion failed
"hintLen >0
File . . \. src\CompMan\AComponent.c. Line 1175
Is the message that came up.
How do I resolve the issue
Thanks in advance,
Denny
Edited:
Two other error meaasges came up
Exception std: exception, what error c0000005 in thread "Main Thread"
Access_Violation at address 650157E0
and
Exception: SETTING NO REGISTERED SETTINGS
I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire editing suite, and the problem still persists. Do I need to delete the project and start over with it? Could deleting all the MXF files from the data base be the issue?
Try deleting your system files first and let them rebuild before you do anything else... If you need further guidance on how to delete these files I believe I am finally able to give you that info so let me know. :-)
Good Luck!
Camilo
Camillo,
Please do tell where these system files are located. This is driving me nuts. One minute the system is stable as rock, and then after deleting some clips from the timeline "All Hell Broke Loose", and MC is totally unusable.
Thanks for the help,
Denny, go to C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Avid Media Composer\Settings and delete the MCState & Site_Attributes, Also the SendToData file. While your are at it to cover all your bases go to your Avid Media Files folder on the drive where your data is stored and delete the msmMMOB.mdb file and the msmFMID.pmr file... Delete those two files in all your Avid Media files folders then retart Avid and it will rebuild all the missing files that you deleted and hopefully your problems will be solved. Doing this has saved my A** a couple of times. :-)
P.S. You will lose your user settings when you do this so you will have to set them up again.. Much better than an Avid that does not work though. :-)
Hi Camilo.
I tried what you suggested, and it didn't work. I am still getting the error messages. Any other ideas? Perhaps Monday when everyone is back someone else can shed some light on this.
Denny, the next thing I would try is to create a new project and then open your bins in it and see if that solves the problem... If that does not work then I am running out of ideas. :-)
Good Luck... I hope it works this time!
Camilo,
The second suggestion worked. Starting a new project stopped the corruption issue, but when I opened the bins from the first project into the second, it popped up again. I decided to scrap the first iteration of the project with the corrupt bins and start over again since I was still early in the project. I didn't want to take the chance of having the issue pop up again later when I had more to lose.
Thanks for you help, it's much appreciated
Denny,
Glad you got it to work... I have to credit everything I know about troubleshoting Avid to the members of this fourm. :-)
I couldn't agree more
We had the same error. It was a corrupted sequence. We brought back another version of the sequence that was good.
