Re: Nitris DX + Media composer often can't see each other

Sadly no update. Avid have given up and said that I need to do a clean OS install. The joy. =/ If that doesn't help, nothing will. I have another set of instructions given to me by support that have worked a few times. Also tedious though... Think a few paths down here was incorrect but easy enough to figure out i think. Let me know if not.

    1. Open Applications > Media Composer
    2. Save copies of your Avid Projects, Avid Attic, and Avid Users folders to your desktop
    3. If you have any AVX plug-ins in the AVX plug-ins folder, save them too. You can also save any Marquee titles you may have.
    4. Open Applications > Avid Uninstallers. Run the Media Composer Uninstaller
    5. When that’s done, quit the installer application and open Applications.
    6. Delete the Media Composer folder if it’s still there. Also delete any Dongle folders that may exist in Mac HD > Applications > Utilities
    7. Open Mac HD > Library > Application Support and delete the Avid folder and Digi folder if they’re there
    8. Open Mac HD > System > Library > Extensions and delete anything that starts with Avid
    9. Open Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and select First Aid
    10. Verify Permissions and then Repair Permissions on the Mac HD. I would do this twice.
    11. Restart the computer
    12. You can now run the installer and install Avid Media Composer

Don't thonk this will get resolved until they find the dev of this that can shed some light on what's happening.

Re: Nitris DX + Media composer often can't see each other

Some of you might have the nitris/mojo Vs. Win 10 problem.

Avid sometimes doesn't see the boxes after system startup.

    Solution:

When you get the "OS Error" and avid shuts down, go into device manager, disable mojo/nitris & re-enable.

    Thanks Lukas

It works for me, but it is very anoying but it works for now.

hopefully AVID wil adress this problem.

Maybe it has somthing to do with the way win10 is starting up ??

    Frank Blauenfeldt:

I have the same problem as NEO (Henrik) but his guide does't work for me.

Do you have any update on this issue ? NitrixDX will not initilize, so MC comming up with "OS_Error" and MC is shutting down.

I allso getting it work on the first boot-up after a clean install of AVID MC, but from the second time and forward I get this "OS_Error" message.

Please help if you can :-)

I have encontered this before and if you're on windows 10, do the following:

    1. Search for and open “Power options” in the Start Menu.
    2. Click “Choose what the power buttons do” on the left side of the window.
    3. Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable.”
    4. Under “Shutdown settings” make sure “Turn on fast startup” is Disabled.

Re: Nitris DX + Media composer often can't see each other

If I am not mistaken, a power option needs to be changed. If this option is not changed, windows doesn't slow down to load the DX driver properly and it can lead to not having a host link light. To change the setting: Control Panel- Power Options >Choose what the power button do > Turn on fast start-up "Disable" this option. This information needs to be included in the readme or configuration guides but it is not for some reason. Edit. Just saw the above reply. That will fix it.

    Problem solved.

When I was disabling the "Turn on fast startup"

Windows is slowingdown the startup proces, Nitris now can connect in time.

    Thank you :-)
