Your project settings seems to be full raster, are you sure that your m2t file also is full raster and not thin raster.

If you switch settings to thin raster ( 1440 x 1080 ) you will get more import options

Thanks. I tried changing but only 'Standard' raster gives me mulitple option for import, others are single/fixed.

Yes, that is standard thinraster hdv, just select hdv from the pulldown menu

Yes, that's what I meant, sorry. When I choose HDV (or others), there are no other import resolution choices.

I also tried changing the project format to DV/NTSC but it seems Avid ignores and still imports it as full resolution 1080/60i.

Is this a correct off-line procedure? ...Am I even doing it right?

Re: How to Import m2t at Lower Resolution?

You should have an option named hdv 1080 into that pull down list, as you only are having one thinraster codec somethings seems not to be correct with your install of MC 3.

    What version are you using?

Is it very important for you to work with long gop, the first thing I do myself is to convert my long gop media to DNxHD ?
