Ok guys,
I know this one should be simple, but I'm trying to learn here and DO NOT want to screw this up.
On my primary Avid MC5 installation I am working on a film. All bins are done, media is imported, etc. What I would LIKE to do is to have a setup where I could work on the film both at my primary edit station AND my laptop, and only have to move my project files from machine to machine.
I created the Avid project as an "external" project so that I could keep everything together in one place. The Media on my primary edit station is held on another drive. I have a large portable drive that is large enough to hold all media, bins, etc.
How can I make this work? The drive letters won't match up if I move my project files from one place to another, but I might be able to fix that.
Anyone done this and can help me out?
Avid doesn't care about drive letters or volume names. When Media Composer launches, it looks at all available drives, and drills down into the media folders, and if it sees proper Media Database Files, it loads them into RAM.

For best performance, the Project should not be on the same drive as the media. On both systems, it is recommended that the Project be located in the default location on your C: drive. As you move back-and-forth, just copy the necessary Bins between systems.
