helo,
Need help..please!
What is the proper way of importing Mandarin or other foreign subtitle files?
We have the text files ready and formatted but it just show as trash characters and blocks on the preview. I really need to figure this out soon.
Thanks.

hi,
After a futile search, I decided to go the painfull, manual way. I used MarqueeTitle tool for the 60+ subcaps. Even the regular Title tool cannot recognize the Chinese characters.
I hope the Subcap Generator has been improved ont he latest MC5. (mine's ver.3)
If you are going to be doing this alot you should check out the new version of Media Composer (5.0) ALONG with this solution (there might be other solutions like this one too).

Douglas' tutorial on entering Japanese text might be helpful for Mandarin as well? Check it out.

Try changing your font. The boxes appear when the font doesn't contain the characters needed. I tried on a MC 5.0.2 and it works - see screenshot. I used STSong but others will work.

Thank you. I will do that!
