Regardless of what the project format type is, opening the Calculator in Media Composer will always default to "30 Non Drop" timecode calculation...
Could it please either default to an appropriate rate for the current project format, or remember the previous setting at least. Small thing, but it would be helpful.

+1 and also the ability to clear the history from the calculator window.
This request is 4 years old. Who do I need to sleep with to make this happen?
Well now the request is 5 years old as it still doesn't allow you to clear all in the calculator. Actually this bug has been around since the beginning of time. First time I've used the calculator in like 7 years...only to find out it still doesn't allow you to clear all entries. The only way to do so it to close Media Composer and relaunch? Seriously?
Unless I'm high or something

I don't bother with Avid's calculator any more. I use Drastic's tcCalc. It's free, cross platform, and does pretty much everything that I need.
I'd love to see this too, was thinking about this the other day myself. Surely the code to parse the info to the calculator can be extracted from the projects current format.
Should be simple for the Avid coders to incorporate this i would think..
Thanks man..I'll check it out!
This issue was raised in another Thread, and I replied with this:
I'm currently on MC 8.6.5
I have the old situation where the Calculator always opens as 30fps no matter the Project Format.
HOWEVER I discovered a way that makes this work as people have requested; If I open the Calculator and change it to 25fps AND leave it open, then when I shutdown Composer and reopen it (a complete Quit, not just change Projects) then the Calculator will be open on starup and be set to 25fps!
Seems that somewhere along the line, MC is able to remember the frame rate setting of the Calculator window. It would be great to find that bit of code and build it into either a Setting or the MC State...
Neil.
