It is one of those very simple things that are not always obvious to newcomers.
Also, from version 4 of MC, the way of choosing individual clip colours has a new dialogue box.

So let's revisit some of the ways of adding colour to your timeline.

This is a problem between some of the MAC browsers and the way the Avid site plays back the FLV files.

If you try and use Firefox you should get it to playback without problems.

Hi, I'm not sure If I'm supposed to reply here. I have a problem with local color. Once I applied a local color to a clip, how can I remove it?

Right now I have applied a local color to a clip, but I don't want it to have any local color, and I want it to have the same color as all of the clips on the track, which I can change with the "track color" option.

In the tutorial I see that you have inside the Edit/Set local clip color the option of "None", but I only got a set of colors to pick (not the names, nor the "none" options, just colors).

I'm on MC5.03 Any thoughts?

Hi, yes, the thing is that I don't seem to have that option. Under Edit I only have "Set Clip colour to default" and "Set local clip color" which opens a tab with a palette of colors, but not options as "none". The display I get is different from the one in the tutorial.

And I'm on Avid 5.0, not 5.3, my mistake.

You are correct the Tutorial was done with MC 4.0.5

In MC 5, a lot of the controls that could be used with colouring tracks and clips were either modified or removed!

That's what I was afraid of. That means there's no way to remove a local color from a clip in MC5? That's crazy.

To further the problem, the colors in the local clip color are saturated, and the ones in the tracks are pastel.

I know thanks to you (again) in this thread that you can select any kind of color for the tracks. So If I want to remove a local color, the only way I see to do this is using saturated colors, so I can "disguise" the local colors by putting saturated colors on the tracks and using those as default.

The shame is I don't like saturated that much, and I couldn't find a way to put pastel colors to the local color clips.
