Is there a way to set a unity workspace to be locked in such a way that it cannot take any avid media files? For instance, I have a workspace where all the project information is stored but I don't want avid media stored on it.
Thanks!
It's basic unity maintenance...
Set read only permissions to the users whom you do not want to write on these workspaces.
User rights in user management.
But I still want to be able to read and write project information by any user. just no avid media. Or is that what "write" means; that it can still write project information but no avid media?

Yes,Just to confirm- the file you created is named OMFI Media Files, not OMFI MediaFiles.txt or something like that? The name has to be an exact match for the trick to work. I've never tried creating my placeholder files from a windows system, so I don't know if that will let you do it the way I do on our Mac-based networks.
