Remember the big fold-out sheet that used to get shipped with every Media Composer system? For some reason, Avid stopped doing it which was a shame because it was really, really useful.
Well, don't despair!
I have made a new version for your reading pleasure which you can download from
http://www.darksunmedia.com.au/ambertech/index.html
Actually, there are some other handy "thinggmies" which you can download from here too
I hope you find it useful
Cheers!
Hi Dave,
Great idea, but when I tried to open the link in IE 7, I got a message saying "The page cannot be found."
good luck,Carl

Same with IE6, or Save As. However, it can be accessed here ...

Hi Carl,
My apologies for the trouble accesing the file. I just discovered the same problem. You can work around it if you type the address directly into the address bar of IE. (but of course that is not ideal)
So...
I have also attached it to this message so hopefully this will get it to you
Cheers...
Hi Randall,
Looooooonnnngggg time no talk mate. Howzitgoin?
See the reply I sent to Carl I have attached the file to it instead. Sorry for the trouble
Very nicely done! The only thing I'd add is the bit about which lassoing technique with which modifier key gets you into what trim mode. I know that was on a cheat sheet Avid put out in the late 90's, but I haven't seen it in a long time.
Thanks again for posting this!
adios,Carl
Thanks for you kind words. I actually have an original cheat sheet but I can't remember if those tips were on it or not. I am in New Zealand at the moment butI will check it out when I get back to Sydney
No worries, Dave. It might have been on a different cheat sheet.
Howdy Dave. Yeah, it's been along time. I'm still ACSR/ACI, and working in Hollywood. I've also been to Africa twice in 5 years setting up Avid systems for a missionary group in Zambia.
Very cool. I laminated the pages back-to-back. Very nice reference guide.
Thank you,
Leo
Hey Dave ...
I'm tasked at work to provide training for experienced editors who are not familiar with Avid. I'd like to provide a few handouts, in addition to al the ususal links. Have you updated this? Better yet, where did you get the images from?
Thanks ....
NIce to hear from you. No, I haven't updated it for ages I'm afraid. The images were all cut out of keyboard screenshots. Please use and modify it any way you want though.
Cheers,
Dave Forsyth
