    VHS player / recorder

    Hi all,

Can someone recommend a good VHS player / recorder for a reasonable price ? I am looking to put some old videotapes onto DVD Via Express Pro 5.7.  I expect I will end up buying an Canopus ADVC-55 for the conversion.

    Cheers

There are many VHS/DVD "players" that would work.  I've seen them very cheap at Walmart, etc.

    Re: VHS player / recorder

Alot of peope use SVHS decks with built in TBC (Timebase Corrector) this helps when capturing old vhs tapes of poor quality.

I personally use a Panasonic AG-7650 SVHS playback deck. It is an old broadcast deck. The output quality is very high with its built in TBC, proc amp, and adjust Noise Reduction (seperate y & C adjsutments). However most broadcast SVHS decks only playback at SP speeds.

I purchase my deck for $30 off ebay used (good deal).
