I need some help with Marquee. Every once in a while when I am working with titles, I type the words (or create the shapes) and place and move them around on the screen. Everything looks fine. But when I exit and save the title to the Bin the saved file is distorted....some of the words are various levels of opacity, some are fine. If I re-load it and make any sort of saveable changes (for example moving the text or adding spaces) the problem areas change but are still there.
I'm really stumped. It seems like a bug, anyone have any ideas of a fix?
When you export it within a video file does it seems distorted?
Otherwise might be the VGA as well.

Not sure what you mean "export it within a video file".
When I am creating the title in Marquee it looks 100% perfect, but once I play the file back in the timeline or from the bin portions of it are distorted.
It only happens occasionally and it seems the more separate objects I have on the screen (separate text boxes) the more prone it is to happening.
Does that help?
When you export as QT file for example the titles are distorted or only at screen???

Hi,
Corrupt user settings can cause weird stuff like that. Try creating a new user and see if the problem is still there.
Good luck,
Carl

In Marquee, have you set the bit depth in Render > Options from 8 to 16?
I've had similar issues in the past - and this fixed it.
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. I tried setting the render options from 8 to 16, and there was no change in my case. What I have noticed is that this happens at random - every time you resave the title, something else's opacity changes
I've had this too. I find it only happens with 2D titles within a 3D layer.
Try moving the title a little bit forward ie: change it's Z position to 0.1.
Or else extruding the text a little can help - thus giving it a little weight.
@jaketheeditor
Thanks everyone for your help.
I changed it from 8 to 16 Bit and that fixed it and seems to be working fine.
Thanks again!
Thanks for this. Just tried it and it does seem to improve a little. In my case I'm probably better off just doing a new title altogether, I've noticed that the quality of the adjusted title does seem to deteriorate in that it starts to look jagged around the edges.
Hey, thanks for the bit depth tip. I was ready to burn my Marquee until I read your solution… and I mean with a match and not to disc. I’m a new user on the whole Avid scene, so this helps out loads.
