how exporting in quicktime (same as source) with 4 audio tracks

    Hello,

I have to export some sequences with an avid adrenaline media composer (2.1.6) in quicktime.

my sequences are mixdown in MXF MPEG 30, and there are two sets of stereo tracks ( 2 stereo for original language in A1 and A2 and two other tracks for stereo in other language in A3 and A4 )

I search someone who can explain me how to export with the 4 audio tracks

Actually i can export in stereo mix ( audio tool in stereo mix ), but there is a error message, when i try to export in direct out, explaining something like ... there isn't clip based pan ...

    but i don't want pan

i want a quicktime with one video track and 4 audio tracks

    many many thanks

    i enjoy reading your help

A quick solution would be to export the Quicktime with Video and a stereo mix of two of the tracks.

Then export the other 2 tracks as a separate WAV.

Open both the Quicktime movie and the WAV file in Quicktime Pro (must be Pro).

In the audio clip, select all, Copy.

In the Video/Audio clip choose 'Add to Movie' from the Edit menu.

Choose Save as and select 'Self Contained' to make a new independent Quicktime file.

You should now have a Quicktime movie with the two audio exports - they will each be Mono now I think.

To keep all 4 tracks separate, you could choose to export with Audio settings set to 'Alternating L/R' or do four exports - one for the video and one audio track and then an audio only export the each remaining track and combine in QT Pro.

Re: how exporting in quicktime (same as source) with 4 audio tracks

Yep, we had the same issue as the OP and yep, we used the same workaround as Mark suggested.
But we recently upgraded to 8.5.2 and now we can export to QuickTimes that hold 2 x Stereo audio tracks, in the one export.

Thanks Avid. Another improvement that saves we Users time. Well Done.
