    Batch Re-import

We were renting Mac Pro trashcan systems for 2022.  We were excited to be getting new Mac Studio Ultra this year. But with comes the mandate to pack up and leaave v2018.12.5 behind - siigh!

So we looked to our trusted MC specialist who kept us rocking & rolling ono those rentals to help us find a dependable version of MC to run on the new Studio Ultras - we landed on 2022.7 (this was the most recent version when we have the stations prepped for our team)

2 things have bugged me, one of which I understand and could possibly find a workaround, which is h264 mp4 files not linking (Base Media Version 2 works though)

But what I can't envision me or my team going without is BATCH RE-IMPORT.  We use this fearture. A LOT.  Please bring it back.  I often need to replace a lot of graphics in a cut and batch re-import makes that extremely efficient in very little time.

    Re: Batch Re-import

Import and therefore Batch re-import just hasn't been developed as much as Linking and Transcoding and when Apple dropped 32bit support and Quicktime that kleft a massive hole in the Mac import (and therefore batch re-import) support and functionality.

I can't see Avid spending resources on going back to that.

The best I could think of would be to find a wrapper and codec import and there fore re-import does support and generate graphics in that format.

In AVID theory, I wonder if the AVID Sequence "Relink..." command (Clip Menu>Relink...) is perchance a choice that might work for you?

The Objects in the AVID Bin are Media Objects that can be TAPE MOBS or SOURCE FILE MOBS, these objects can relink in a BIN selection to sequences, they can relink to groups except all those groups are not a version where any duplicated group gets updated too, a sequence is a true version not effecting other duplicated sequences and those links.

    - AVID Media Composer Original Version 8.x introduced the sequence command "Batch Import".

    - AVID Media Composer 303 class "Integrating third party Graphics" AVID taught the Relink Command to get graphics from offline to online.
