Following up why Avid Link was trying to access terminal on my mac-malware ?

About a week ago I came to me computer in the morning to find a Mac dialogue box saying that "Avid link was trying to access Terminal" and to find Terminal open. Someone from Avid said they were going to follow up on that but has not yet. I have since uninstalled Avid Link. I searched for other instances of this and see it has to some others. Please tell me why Avid Link was trying to acces terminal on my mac? Mac Catalina running Media Composer Ultimate Free version because it is too convoluted to unregister my paid MC between my two computers.

Thanks I would love to get a response for this.

    Hi Gary.

Do you have silent install/auto update on?

To check that, go into Link, click the 3-dot menu under your profile pic, and then see in the "Install Options" area whether anything is checked there.

If you reinstall, I can assist in triage.

You'll also need Avid Link installed in order to handle any activation and cloud licensing work.

    Note:

Avid Link's "silent install" feature that I mentioned above requires access to Terminal in macOS to install the software on a customer's machine.

So, if for whatever reason you want Link to not access Terminal, than all you need to do is not have that feature selected.
