File Cannot be Imported / Checklist of Possible Issues

    Hi,

I'm getting an error on Import in the Source Browser

The file --- cannot be imported. Do you want to link and consolidate/transcode it?

I also have an issue relinking these files to an existing timeline.

The files I am attempting to import are Quicktime mov H264

The AMA plugin documentation states that Quicktime comes installed with Media Composer.

Is there a checklist of possible issues?

    Here is my system spec

    Windows 10

    AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor

    64GB RAM

    RTX 2070 Super

QT is no longer installed on Windows 10. If you want to install it separately, you'll have to download the QT player from here: https://support.apple.com/downloads/quicktime. Run the QT installer and then try importing into Media Composer. If that still doesn't work, then you'll have to transcode or consolidate the files.

    Excellent thanks Dave!

    This fixed the import issue.

It maybe helpful if the Quicktime infomation from the AMA PlugIn menu was updated.
