Hello,
I recently acquired an old Newscutter DV station along with a Meridien I/O box. Unfortunately the hard drive was damaged so I put in a new one. I managed to install Windows NT4, Avid Newscutter 1.5.1 software and all the drivers, except the driver for the Truevision TARGA DV2000 card. I looked everywhere but all the available drivers are not compatible (they don't see the Avid module). I don't intend to use this station at all, but wanted to run it as a matter of curiosity and for historical purposes. I don't have the original CD, so the thing is complicated. Maybe someone still has the necessary drivers and software on hand somewhere. Thank you in advance for your help!

I would be grateful. I've been trying various drivers for a week now, but none of them see the Avid I/O PCB connected to the TARGA board ( not to mention the Meridien box). If you could find something it would be excellent.
The last version of the Newscutter software is located here: https://my.avid.com/esd/Product/Download/1513. I don't think this will work on NT4. You'll probably have to upgrade to Windows XP Pro to get it to work.

Unfortunately, this station does not support Windows XP (it's a Pentium II after all). In addition, Newscutter 10 does not support the TARGA DV2000 card. Here, the software itself is not a problem, because I was able to recover Newscutter version 1.5.1 from the old drive. What I lack are the drivers for the TARGA DV2000 card, which were written specifically for Avid. According to this document (https://resources.avid.com/SupportFiles/attach/NC_RN1_5_1.pdf), these drivers came on a CD together with the station. I, however, do not have this CD. The person who gave me the station claims never to have had it. I was therefore hoping that someone here might have dealt with a Newscutter DV station at some point in the past, and might still have the CD somewhere, and could share an image of it (I'm guessing it's too ancient a piece of equipment for me to get help from Avid support). I have everything I need to get this station up and running - even a license dongle - just the drivers are missing. And I wanted to get it up and running, mainly out of curiosity.
You might want to contact Chris and ask him if anyone at Avid still has access to the old CD for newscutter 1.5. It might still be archived somewhere.
As suggested, send an email to Chris Bové at Avid (chris.bove@avid.com). He is their customer advocate, and will know who to contact to see if they still have the drivers somewhere.

Thank you for your advice. I've already made contact, so maybe something can be done about it.
