Forget and forgive me for the OTish question...
Glenn Sakatch:The only thing you may do to bugger things up in Avid is have it convert the frame rate. This could present issues, but even at that I find Avid is very good at tracking the proper data.
Could You please give more information? I linked 50p footage into a 25i project, to retain the slomo I went to source settings and chosen to run the clips at project's frame rate (25fps), then I transcoded to DNxHD LB for editing. At picture lock I exported an empty AAF to Resolve, but no matter what Resolve will not conform.
Any help more than welcome!

you say you exported an "empty" aaf...i'm not understanding what that is.
I was speaking more about bringing 29.97 footage into a 23.98 project, or vice versa. Avid is very good at tracking that metadata.
Typically when i do your workflow, i find it easier to create slomo masters of the footage, and work from those.
In your case, you may want to try bringing your raw footage into resolve, and telling resolve to interpret it at 25 fps.
Then try to reconform your timeline to the bin containing that footage.
Had you edited with links, you may have had more luck putting the footage back to normal in Avid, exporting a list, then conforming in Resolve, and then repeating the process by telling Resolve to run the footage at 25.
Have you tried relinking to the original files in Avid?
Whenever I get footage without timecode I use qtchange from videotoolshed.com to add a timecode track. You can use file creation/modification date or Free run as timecode.Supported containers are MOV, MP4 and lately even MXF.The €30 are very well invested.https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/qtchange/
I also use batch renaming to make sure that every file I get has a unique name. With timecode + unique filename you will never run into relinking problems again.
wow that looks like a great tool!!
thank you!

I've been using some of Boukes tools for quite a while. He has a very interesting assortment of tools for our industry.
This one is very usefull when you have no timecode and not specific file names. Like in cases where the camera is always recording a generic name. (DJI 001 shows up every day of the shoot)
Use this to add timecode, then use a renamer to add info to the file name cooresponding to the shoot date...then treat those as your master files, and run them through your process.
I also use his MP4 to MOV.
I don't think QT change will work on mp4's. (At least it didn't used to...but i haven't updated in a while.)
Philip Kapadia: wow that looks like a great tool!! thank you!
Yup! I used this tool to add the TOD data to the footage of an movie shot on iPhone.
The most reliable way of conforming (I tried Resolve and Assimilate Scratch amongs others) was Media Composer.
MC gives more options when re-linking to the camera originals in a bin, and generally seems to be more metadata savvy than others.

Yes this is true and 'Disk Label' is the most bullet proof of all, with proxy/camera original conforms.

Yes, it does.A while ago I asked him if he could add support for MXF as well and he did within a week.
