This might not be the right forum but we are running Macs, so here goes. In a university, running MC 2021.12.4 on a number of iMacs (2019 with fast processors and 64GB RAM). We have an enormous Editshare installation (which may not be relevant). Some students (mostly but not all) cannot use the Source Browser as, when clicking on a location in the lefthand panel, the righthand panel shows the folder contents for a fraction of a second, then just shows the list of drives and Editshare spaces as seen in the lefthand column. We can't use the Source Browser so use the Option+Drag to bin from Finder workaround (which, I have previously noted) is faster, anyway! Here's a link to a screen capture: https://vimeo.com/764683819/5352c39d74. Thoughts?

Whoa, that is weird...It seems to always want to "snap" to its highest (or first) folder level.
Can't say I've ever seen that, so I'd approach this by removing the machine from the shared storage access and see if the behavior rectifies -- it's almost like it's peeking at the share and deciding, "nope, that's not a good place to go," and just goes back to where you started.
Does it do it if you DON'T select an Editshare volume?

I think it is something to do with the way the student compouter log-in accounts are set up. It fails with nearly all (bar two) regardless of whether the Editshare media spaces are mounted or not. With my (staff) log-in, I have not seen a problem on any of the machines I have tested. Very annoying. We thought that our upgrade from 2021.12.2 to 2021.12.4 wpould fix it but no. It's difficult here to get anyone to actually take responsibility for oversight of the whole system (the old idea that you don't let the IT department anywhere near your Avid installations).
So, it's a permissions thing?
That is a good thought, but why might a user not have permission to see files on their own desktop in the Browser (which I checked)? I need to get some heads knocked together on this!
