I have a new Mac Studio (stats below) and Studio Display running MacOS 12.4.
After upgrading to 2022.10, my UltraStudio 4K is not being recognized. I have upgraded to the most recent Blaks Magic Desktop Video (version 12.4) to no avail.
Is there a new setting to allow this? I have searched and not found any information. I have power cycled the 4K after upgrading the software (no firmware update happened.)
Obviously, I need a signal to get out to scopes and client monitors.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm... Let me check on this. It might be a simple case of BlackMagic not releasing the firmware yet, and thus your needing to roll back to MC 2022.7 until they do so.Whenever we release a new version, there's always a slight transition window where companies like BlackMagic, AJA, and other 3rd party venders need to release their firmware versions as close to our release date as possible. In software development, release dates shared between separate companies is never an exact science.

Thanks, Chris.
I am finished for the day, so I wait to see if anything surfaces. However, over the weekend, I will need to roll back, if no updates are available.
I am a recent upgrade from MC 8.6 (I held out as loong as possible), so still on a curve. How would I roll back to 2022.7? I don't think I have the original installer.

Yes, from what I'm seeing,BlackMagic's 12.4 firmware version was released in July, around Avid's 2022.7 version. Since then, we released 2022.10 and there were also a few minor releases of OS. So the firmware version from BlackMagic "technically" should be kept at what was the current "version ecosystem" back in July.
I'd roll back to Media Composer 2022.7 and see if that fixes the issue.
If it doesn't, then there are other triage steps we can take.
Thanks, again, Chris.
I rolled back to the previous version and it recognized the UltraStudio 4K on boot.
I'll keep up with Black Magic for updates.
Have a nice weekend.
I had an issue with my Blackmagic UltraStudio Mini Monitor when I updated to 2022.10. When I first started MC, the UltraStudio box wasn't selected as an output device. There's a HW/SW output button at the far right of the timeline toolbar, and if you right-click on it you can select the output hardware you want to use.
Once I did that, everything worked as normal. I'd suggest giving that a try.

Thank you. I am familiar with that procedure but it was showing up as greyed out. It was not giving me any options at all. I need to reach out to Black Magic, I suppose. For now, I rolled back to the previous version that I was using (21.12.4) and I'm back up and running. like bnefore the upgrade.
Reinstalled 22.10 and tried your method above of right clicking on the HW/SW switch and was able to choose the UntraStudio 4K. All is well. Thank you!
Strange thing here is that on 22.10 is that on last boot I could not see the BlackMagic 4k in Avid. Now I can see the option if I right-click the HW/SW switch, but I'm still not getting signal. BM Video Desktop says it's attached.
Same here,
Blackmagic Ultra Studio 4k mini is not recognized with MediaCopmposer 2022.10. This happens on my iMac 2020 and my Macbook ProM1 MAX. Downgraded back to 2022.7 and it is working again. I have blackmagic Desktop Video 12.4.1. installed.
cheers
You will have to re-install the most current Black Magic Ultra Studio 4K drivers. Start by uninstalling the current driver and reboot. Upgrade to 2022.10 and then go to the BM website and download the latest copy of the drivers and install the drivers. You should be able to see the new driver in 2022.10.
