Hello,
I confirmed this issue on multiple computers on my end, you may want to do the same.
I have some ProRes RAW footage. This is the first time I've had to deal with it. It links fine in Media Composer 2022.7 on an Intel Mac Pro 2013 cylinder running Mac OS 12.5. However, linking is problematic on a Mac Studio M1 Ultra running Mac OS 12.5 and Media Composer 2022.7. I can hear the audio just fine, but the picture is black. I tried on two different machines for good measure.
The same Mac Studios have no issues with the files in Premiere 2023, Quicktime Player, Final Cut X, etc.
Does it make a difference when you have Pro Video Formats installed? https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2050?locale=en_US
That did not help.
Quick bump / update on this- MC 2022.10 has the same issue. Prores RAW does not link properly on Apple Silicon. Audio works, picture is black.
Hello farhadd,
Try this, linking and playback of ProRes RAW media using the UME plug-in. I also created a case for you. Support will reach out to assist you.

Hi Ralph, Avid support contacted me after your forum post (thanks for setting it up). They informed me that the issue with Prores RAW is a bug under MCCET-4763. I cannot seem to find MCCET-4763 documented in any publicly available information. Can I get access to the full bug list for Media Composer? I spent an inordinate amount of time confirming that bug so that I could report it confidently. Had I access to the bug list it would have saved me considerable time. I have a new bug related to UME vs Quicktime linked media and I'd rather not waste time on it if it's already known.
