IIRC, a new installation of Media Composer should be run for the first time under an Admin account. This creates the MCState file for the first time, owned by Admin and R/W by all other users. But ... I've just experienced a glitch. If a non-admin user (my students, or one of my standard test accounts) deletes MCState (a regular troubleshooting fix), then another non-admin user gets an error as the file is 'owned' by the other non-admin user and can't be written to. This is not the case with Site Settings, I think. This needs to be fixed, I think. In the example, MCState, was deleted and recreated by the user 'Notanadmin'. Another user gets the error. Wrong n'est ce pas mes braves?

Yes - I will do that, once I have beaten up the new student issues with Editshare (oops) and Avid!
I've created a support case - I imagine this will affect others.
Thanks for doing that.
Are you able to provide me with your case number?
