Hi guys,

I'm trying to understand the difference between consolidate vs import during the ingesting process.

I've just started a new project and imported Sony FX-9 footage (XAVC I) through the LINK option. As they are Native Format, am I right to assume that I don't need to transcode them but just use the 'consolidate' option?

Or is it the consolidate process just to use when we have a squence with footage from different drives and we want to have them all in one place?

No, your media is not Avid native, it will need to be transcoded :)
