Previously posted to the Mac forum: The only instance I can find of this error is on the PC MC forum. Briefly, last year I captured hours of old PAL DV footage. Avid 3:1 compression, 48k audio, 24bit, PCM(MXF). I must have been using a 2018 release on Mojave (see below>>>). Tried playing these clips on my updated iMac, Big Sur 11.6.8 with MC 2022.7). Video can be seen but no clip plays with this error. Booted up with my Mojave drive (always keep an older OS!) and installed a 2018 MC release. All good (but see* below). Uninstalled and installed 2019.6 on Mojave. No clips play. Error shown. So probably not an OS issue.* As a workaround I thought I'd consolidate or transcode in MC 2018 and change the audio format to AIFF. Sort of worked but only A1 was online afterwards. A2 offline - so something else screwy. So I can play and edit in 2018 but not a later release. I may have to edit and export in 2018 (it's mostly family footage so no great panic). Any thoughts? And why the 'AMA' elemnts of the error message? This is kosher Avid media ... and I can supply some.

Hi Roger, just to be clear, is this about the files you e-mailed me earlier?
Strange, the video play fine for me on my Avid. What are your project settings? Perhaps they could be different to mine?
Here is the media exported out of my Avid: https://we.tl/t-nYEcvnxTzN
If that's correct I can transcode your media at mezzanine/uncompressed and send back to you if you don't have time to troubleshoot at the moment.

I'm running an Avid certification right now but I will try with new user settings later. Here, on this iMac, there is MC 2022.4 and 'Millstream Ripples' will not play but the Joburg clip does play. Weird. Someone at Avid must know what that message means! What system did you check on?
Hi Roger,
I was able to ingest this into a windows system.
Out of interest, have you rebuilt the Avid database from these files? How do you have this footage ingested into the Avid? Is it now transcoded?
Thanks for encoding those clips - I will sort out the stuff I need using an older release. As I said yesterday, on another computer, one test clip played and the other didn't (2022.4, Mac). Just now I fired up 2022.7, made a new project and new user profile and both test clips played. I then connected my G-Raid Thunderbolt drive with hours of PAL footage and nothing in that format would play! Rebooted from a drive with Mojave and MC 2018 and the clips played. As I said earlier, they play OK on Windows. I'll trash the databases and see what happens. When you tested a few days back, what system did you use?
Still no good in 2022.7. Found another drive of old PAL captures and nothing plays. It was all OK when captured earlier this year (not sure which release). I have a laptop here and I will try with that.
Even more confusing ... I found most of the problem footage backed up to a La Cie rugged drive (Thunderbolt connected) and it all plays fine in 2022.7. Most peculiar.
Update. The media was stored on a G-Raid drive. I rand Disk First Aid and it showed an error. I copied everything off and reformatted the drive, creating a new RAID. I then copied the media back and now everything plays in MC 2022.7 (!). This does not explain why media would not play earlier with this version wheas it did play in MC 2018 under Mojave and on a Windows 10 system. One of life's mysteries.
Spoke too soon. Some SD media from my G-Raid now throws the error again. Someone at Avid must know what this error means?

Avid support might know... Might be work creating a case.
