Hi all Avid Media Composer users.
I've been using Avid for years and am quite adept on it but I want to brush up on my grading skills as I'm now working as a VFX editor and need to match foregrounds and backgrounds. I managed to find this book online: 'Color Grading with Media Composer and Symphony 6' from Avid Learning. The book gives a link for media to follow the exercises but the link has expired.
If anyone out there has the media or knows where I can find it, I would be eternally grateful! I reached out to the Avid training division but haven't heard back.
Just download some test footage from RED or Arri - they have a bunch of example files on their websites. The hilarious and sad thing about a book referencing Symphony 6 is that basically nothing has changed at all since then. The principles of colour correction will apply whatever footage you use.

Filmlight has some material to download as part of it's Baselight Student training programme.
There's a page where you can download the media package.
As well as footage from cameras such as Arri etc. there's a short edited sequence using DNX36 (Op Atom) MXF files which can go directly into the Avid Mediafiles numbered folder. There's an AAF sequence you import which will link to these files. The sequence is a short section from the UK comedy series Plebs.

Thanks for the info. I have access to lots of footage but I'm specifically looking for the footage related to the exercises in the book. I managed to locate the author of the book and he's going to track down the footage for me.
Thanks for that -- it looks useful. I've actually managed to track down the author of the Avid grading book. He's seeing if he can track down the footage related specifically to the exercises in the book for me.
Hi jfinlan, did you have any luck with the files? I'm looking too.....
Hey. I managed to track down the writer of the book and he located the footage for me. He uploaded it here for me:

Let me know if that link still works. I downloaded the footage but might have left it at home in Ireland (I'm currently in England).
