USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connected to Thunderbolt 4 connector.

    Pardon my ignorance.

I have an external SSD Drive rated at a maximum speed of  2000MB/s read/write with the USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection.

What happens if i connect that same SSD drive to my Macbook pro Thunderbolt 4 connector. Will I get

the 2000MB/s maximum read/write speed advertised?
    Thank you

Wow 2000MBps is 16Gbps are you sure that's correct?

    Hello YGP52,

TB4 contains USB 4 which is backward compatible to USB 3.2.  You should get the same performance.

    Thanks,

Interesting Amazon list them at 2000MBps but on the SanDisk site they list them at 550MBps

It may not be.  "A maximum speed of 2000 MBps" sounds like advertising speak to me.  If they're listed unconditionally as 550 Mb/s that's probably what you should allow for.
