Hello,

I am currently working on a project that is meant to be shown in 2.35 aspect ratio. So far, I have been working with a filler that creates letterbox to 2.35. However, the main editor would like to have the monitor set to 2.35 instead of working with a filler in the timeline as it can be annoying to work with. I was wondering how I would go about modifying the monitor to permanently be viewed witht the letterbox or if there is a frameflex option?

Open your project format settings, set Mask Margins to 2.39:1 (or 2.35:1 if they insist, but the real world aspect ratio in Digital Cinema is 2.39:). Then in Video Output Settings, choose Black Mask. You can right-click in the Source and Record monitors and set the same mask there. Or you can set transparent masks.

Note that you can also select these mask margins to be applied when exporting to MOV/MXF/MP4 etc.
