* Exception: AMAMapperAudio::AMAMapperAudio Missing audio media descriptor
Good evening! I'm having trouble opening a timaline that worked normally a few days ago... I get this message right above. I need some help, does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hello,
I'm wondering if you've solved this issue? I can help you troubleshoot if you haven't.

Hello friend, I actually managed to solve it somehow, importing the audio again... It's happened to me twice in this last project I'm working on. But I'm not sure why it happens, would that be corrupt file? If you can explain to me how to solve it, I can solve future problems.
I'm now seeing this. Here's the scenario: Last September I captured hours of old DV tape footage on my iMac (Mojave). I can't recall the exact MC version but that may become clear. The footage was captured to Avid's 3:1 compression with audio at 48k, 24 bit, PCM (MXF). Yesterday I tried playing some clips on my updated version (Big Sur 11.6.8, MC 2022.7). The video was OK but no clips would play throwing the error in the subject line.
I still have a Mojave boot drive so I fired it up and installed a 2018 MC release (can't recall exactly which one, may have been 2018.12.5). Everything played fine. OK, I thought, I will consolidate or transcode the the media using AIFF as the audio format. That sort of worked but only A1 was included in the new clips - A2 was offline. Tried M2 (not a format I'm familiar with). Still no A2.
Next I uninstalled the 2018 release and installed 2019.6 on my Mojave drive. The error (above) returned and no clips would play (so I guess the OS is not the issue). I'm pretty much stuffed, as we say in the UK. 2018 will play the clips but not consolidate or transcode both audio tracks and 2019 and later will not play the clips. Most of this stuff is domestic so I'll have to edit in 2018 and export as something else. But ... something is amiss here. Anyone?
With best wishes, Roger Shufflebottom
