Hi all,
I have been working as an Avid AE for quite some time, for several years I've been able to take ISO audio field tracks and rename them and organize them to the tracks I'd like them to fall into in autosequence and eventually the group, for example: a track for Jenna recorded in the field on track 8, I would rename to 01_JENNA_03, and after importing to Avid in previous versions the Jenna track would be associated on track 3 in the media composer timeline. Recently on version 2021.3, i've noticed this is no longer the case, media composer is recognizing the original metadata on the clip and keeping Jenna on track 8 (from the original field recording). Is there something I'm missing to make Media Composer treat these tracks the way I need them to lay out in the sequence? Any help greatly appreciated.
I'm running into a similar issue with MC 2020.12.3.
When we bring in all the raw audio from the record session the tracks will be set to whatever they were in ProTools. So some tracks come in as Trk1 as well as tracks from 2-64.
In MC 2018 we could delete the media for those files and unlink them, change the tracks all to A1 then batch re-import. All is good. We could then marry them with the script and run script sync. Script Sync only works on A1-8.
Now in 2020.12.3 we get an error when batch importing the modified clips and none are imported. Console error is:
Batch import clip 63 of 63 FAILED: FILENAME_Take_29.wav with error:
Track -1 not found.
It seems that it still wants to match the orignal track metadata assignment when re-importing the files.
I've tried various ways or but always end up with this error.
