    Source browser - refresh folders?

    HI.

It seems he only way I can get the source browser to see a new folder within a folder that i have been using in my project is for me to quit and restart media composer. which is a pain. am i missing something?

    thanks,

    nick

I don't know about the older versions, but in the newer versions of mc it should live refresh like this: https://streamable.com/okwdjr

I'm on PC so i'm using the NTFS system, Macs of course use FAT.

what version of avid media composer are you on? what are your system specs? Have you tried re-setting your user settings?

I think it depends on drive format.

I just tried this on my Mojave system, and adding a new folder on an EXFAT drive was not 'seen' by Source Browser, but adding one on my Mac OS (Extended) format raid was.

I'm on a Mac running Catalina.

    Avid Media Composer 2021.5.0

The external drive i'm using for my media is formatted ex-FAT.

I might expect a 'refresh folders' option or button. maybe something to mention to avid i guess.

i guess a workaround is to copy the files into the folder that my project is seeing.

Re: Source browser - refresh folders?

I'm on Mojave and MC 2021.6.  Sometimes it refreshes and sometimes it doesn't.  Very annoying.  I don't have to completely close Avid though,  I just close the project and go back in and it recognized the changes.  I hope they fix this.

My target bin also get's stuck sometimes, still displaying bins that are, in fact, closed.

The Source browser needs a refresh button.

I know this is an old thread, but still no button... what I'm doing is: create new folder then delete it... dumb but works....
