Any way to change user settings in First? Alternately, should I uninstall and reinstall?

After upgrading to the latest version (2021.5) from 2021.3 I am stuck. The biggest problem is that I am unable to scroll in the timeline. Clicking on the timeline, the blue scroll line is stuck either at the beginning or the end of the timeline and trying to grab it does nothing. I can scroll in the record monitor, and the scroll line in the timeline follows that, but the moment I click into the timeline, the scroll line jumps to the beginning of the timeline if I have clicked on the left side of the screen, or to the end if I have clicked to the right.

The only thing that happens in the timeline is that if I click and drag the line in the timeline jumps to the end when I cross the middle of the timelne, and then jumps back to the beginning if I cross back across the middle, in either source or record timeline view

I have been using Avid professionally since 2000 before I left my company in 2018, and I have seen my share of bugs, but nothing like this.

Further investigation reveals that if I switch to source timeline view, the same thing happens. I can scroll in the source monitor, but clicking in the timeline sends the green scroll line to one end of the timeline or the other.

I've had no luck on the forum finding a solution so far. A few folks suggested creating new user settings, but I can find no way to do this on First--it appears locked to the user who is registered in Avid Link.

So what is my next step? Is there a way to change or reset user settings to default? In the older versions of MC and NC that I used it was easy to create new or import user settings; is there an option here I am unaware of?

As it is, the program is useless to me, and I do not do enough pro work these days to justify buying it. Does anyone think that a full uninstall and reinstall might address this issue?

I use MC rather regularly for some projects and I really would like to try to find a solution to this. All suggestions appreciated.

    Hi Toby,

I'm on a Mac right now, but you should be able to find the user setting in the My documents on Windows.

    Hi Ralph,
Unfortunately all that I find in My Documents is Avid Projects, and it is empty.
