Classic…
I’m trying to relink my offline edit (transcoded from linked clips) to the original files.
The drives the original files are on are the same drives that were used to transcode to offline. Same disks, same paths, same file names, etc.
I created a new bin and relinked all the original media in it to make sure the paths to the files are all good (this is a 3-year-old project).
This step works (apart from one plugin, but that’s another topic).
When I select my offline sequence and chose Relink/ Selected Media in All open Bins, just a fraction, about 1/6, of the clips are relinked.
I can’t see any pattern in why some clips won’t relink…. It’s across drives, file formats, etc. Some clips from the same day randomly won’t show up, others do.
Any ideas ?
Weirdly, It seems that if I make subsequence of 1-2min with some of the problematic clips, it relinks. Sometimes.
Are you linking with UME plugin and originally they linked with QT plugin?
This is know to be an issue. Apparantly the old QT plugin would potenitally produce master clips 1 or 2 frames different to the new UME plugin. Clips then won't link.

I don't remember what was the original plugin, probably QT indeed.
Can I "force" MC to use Quicktime ?
Indeed, some of the problems I'm having are from Quicktime Archives and I can see some frame skipping...
