DnxHR to DPX 12 bit - non standard 4k resolution

    Hi all,

I am looking to develop against the SDK for dnxHR 12 bit HQX .mxf files.  In the end, I want to turn the .mxf files into 12 bit DPX files.  The problem (I think) is that I am using a non-standard resolution size.  Namely, the 4k resolution is a 16:9 size, 4096x2304.  And, I want to make DPX frames (at 12 bit) of the same size, 4096x2304.  I've tried using the MainConcept MXF-->vc3 demuxer and then the vc3-->YUV raw before finally using FFMPEG to go to DPX, but, I'm finding an error in the dnxHR decide from vc3-->YUV as it won't "take" the non-standard resolution.

Does anyone know if this is a limitation of the SDK?  And if I try using the Avid SDK directly to go from DnxHR--> vc3, will I run into the same problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    -Steve.

Re: DnxHR to DPX 12 bit - non standard 4k resolution

    Hello Steve,

Avid DNxHR is a resolution independent codec, it supports 4096x2304 rster size for any HR compression (inluding HQX). Avid DNxHR SDK also does not have any limitation to decode/encode HQX with 4096x2304 raster size.

    Thanks,

    Viktor
