I just installed the new Apple Pro Video Formats released yesterday (v2.1.2) and now I can't export to Apple ProRes from Avid. The option is gone from the video codecs drop-down menu.
Does anyone know how to uninstall Pro Video Formats so I can go back to the previous version? Thanks!
Avid Media Composer 2019.12.2 running on macOS Mojave 10.14.6
Quick update!
Been on the phone with Apple for an hour, looks like some codec in this new update in not compatible with Avid Media Composer anymore. Workaround was to download the previous version of Apple Pro Video Formats (v2.1.1) and brute force install it using Pacifist. Restarted and everything is back to normal. I'll skip the Apple Pro Video Formats v2.1.2 until we jump to Catalina and Avid 2020
Can confirm on MC2020.6 and 10.14.6. Did the Update yesterday and yes, ProRes is missing from the "old" Quicktime Export Settings.

Has anyone tried the bew Apple PRo Video Formats (v2.1.2) using the latest version of Catalina OSX. (10.15.6)? Wondering if this combination is safe.
hi, sorry to ansher this "old" post.
i am working on Catalina 10.15.7 with pro codecs 2.2.1 and nothing seems to work properly.
was hoping to find a solutions...
Are you using UME exports? "Classic" QuickTime doesn't work with Catalina.
Must think of something clever to go here...
Hi, hbrock thanks your your reply
if i import prores 422HQ in MC:
drag and drop - does nothing.
"import media" does nothing.
"Source browser" tells me that it cannot be imported - if i want to consolidet/trancode it - that sort of works but its a waste of time and compicatet workflow
the funny thing is, that i exported the same File from MC and the browser says Plugin: UME Link and Codec: Apple ProRes422HQ(HD1080p)
the other thing that does not work in 2021.9.0 coming from 2018, is that DNxHD with Alpha.mov are also not importable, with sucks couse that is what i get from the graficsdepartment. only prores4444 or animation codec work, but thats to heavy for the internettransfer. work around is to rerap to mxf Op1a. but i could not get AfterFx to export that.
I am looking for a (quality) codec that works: from MC to AfterFx and back, that i can tell my clients to send me, and it would be great if that is quickviewable too!
best regards michael
