I just noticed that VideoGuys has a $299 offer on the perpetual license instead of the $399 stated on MyAvid. My license is current until November 16 2020. Can I take advantage of that sale to extend my license to 2021? Will Avid also be offering a similar offer so that I may order it direct thru my avid account?
Thanks,
Denny
Denny,
Whenever you have a perptual - and renew - it adds the year to the end of the current expiration. So yes...... it will add it thru 2021.
Avid does not offer it at that price... videoguys.com reserves the right to set their own pricing AFAIK

Sounds like a good deal. With the script coming from VideoGuys, are there any issues adding that subscription to the end of the one I have?
Bought yesterday from VideoGuys a new 1y renewal plan for my Perpetual/Symphony/dongled, code received in few hours, and added to my personal AMC.
Now my expiration date is March 20 2022, so no problems at all adding to existing alive support plan.
I understand that Avid and the industry is going "through a major shift from perpetual licenses to a new business model focused on subscription". For me, owning a small business and a loyal Avid user for more than 15 years, it is now more expensive tot renew my upgrade and support plan than it would be if I had a subscription. This just feels wrong to me. Normal 0 21
Well, if you feel it's cheaper to let your perpetual license lapse and go for a regular MC subscription, then that option is available to you. You'd lose the option to use shared storage.
Sure it is. I just dont feel the love... :)
