MC 4.05
I used to work with the combination MC 4 and my Mojo a lot many years ago.
Now I need to digitize Hi8 tapes and need to use the combination MC 4.05 and analog Mojo again.
But now, when starting MC, I get the error: "problem with hardware, power cycle your hardware." then MC quits.
I power cycle Mojo and start again, but same error. I restarted the computer, but same error.
Without Mojo I can run MC.
Has anything changed with the computer configuration? (OS update? drivers?)
The Mojo connects via the IEEE1394 (FireWire400) port, maybe something has gone awry with your PCI 1394 card? Maybe try reseating it?

I seem to remember changing the firewire driver to the legacy one.

Pat Horridge: I seem to remember changing the firewire driver to the legacy one.
What does that mean?
Do I need to change my driver (which one?), because Avid changed something?
When I used this Mojo with the exact same computer years ago, everything worked.
I don´t think I changed a driver.
Connecting a mini-DV camera directly to the computer works and the picture from the camera is seen in MCs capture.
I remember having to do this with Windows 7/64 bit. If I also remember correctly, under Win XP, the firewire driver was fine.
If you haven't changed anything, I wouldn't think it's the driver.
It may be the Mojo that's at fault. Does it show up correctly in your Devices list?
I see these pretty cheaply on Ebay occasionally, so maybe you could get a second Mojo to see if it's a hardware fault.
