Hi,
I have finished a film in Media Composer, Mixdown Video and Audio. it plays in MC all just fine. 48 Minutes long.
when I do Output - Export to file - select AVI, I get after a while an Error msg:
"Exception: Maximum size of AVI file has been reached. Resulting output may not be complete."
And, of course the file 1.9 GB) does not play.
What am I doing wrong?
thanks
Lembit
Not sure - but why AVI? Fairly unusual container type these days.
AVI exports from Avid have had a max size of 2 GB for a LONG time (at least 15 years, based on Google searches for this error message).
There's likely another file type that you can use for whatever you need - and it'll probably export much faster, too.
As usatraveler wrote, it is the size limitation of the AVI format in Avid and many other apps. Choose another format for compression.

Thank you both,
I found how to export to .mov
I recommend exporting as MXF Op1a (via the Avid Media Processor) for mastering.
