Marianna: Did you try the new BM driver? Marianna
No. Because I had to roll back to an older BM driver due to that audio loop glitch that a few of us mentioned here. Maybe I should try very latest avid and very latest BM if that audio stuck in a loop when you stop is fixed. Don't want any suck it and see tests - too much on! Do you know if they got it? Thx
Ultimate 2022.12.1, Blackmagic Intensity Pro, WIN 11 on 7000Mbps M.2 SSD, Nvidia Quadro P4000, Asus Pro Art Z690 i9 12900k 5.0 GHz, 8TB M.2 SSD - its nippy!
Hi Marianna
FWIW I have this too, also when the BM device (UltraStudio Mini Monitor in my case) is NOT connected.
Latest BM driver installed.
On an older BM release as well, because of the audio loop at stop thang!
peace luca
And we have it, as mentioned before, also on systems without any Blackmagic hardware. We have it on systems with oldschool Avid NitrisDX, for example.
Best,
Felix
luca.mg: Ciao Marianna, this is happening with BM hardware as well, any news on that side? I agree with Diesele that an average 40% quit failure is on, quite annoying in front of a client, especially the ad agency kind of guy, usually a FinalCut X addict. :-))

Yup, It's embarrassing in front of a client. After a long edit session with a client present, I've gotten into the habit of doing a little bit of classic misdirection. I usher the guy out of the room on the pretense of getting him a cup of coffee, then sneak back in and close down MC... and deal with the inevitable (and scary to a client) message that pops up when MC won't close.
I have a fantastic editing assistant. He stays by my side when I edit...doesn't talk too much...and thinks I'm a genius! Check him out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQVkYaaPO6g
Same issue on freshly loaded 2012.2.3 - dirty quits persist :-(
Just an fyi that we are stille experiencing this issue. Is this going to be adressed in media composer 2019 ?
Updated to 2018.12.3 and confirm the thang is still on.
Just a monthly bump to say that the issue is still very much present.Hopefully avid 2019 (when released) will have fixed it...

Has this even been officially logged as a bug? Going through this tread, I don't see where it has...

I'm afraid not...
So far there has been no acknowledgement that this is a bug. No mentioning in the 2018.12.3 (and .4) thread either.

This is curious. For the most part, Avid has been very responsive in quickly acknowledging and flagging bugs. There used to be a policy where a couple of additional users would have to independently confirm a bug for it to be considered a bug. In this instance, multitudes of users on this site have been experiencing this issue for months and Avid doesn't consider it a bug????
Hey Terry
There shoud be a fix for the MC/AJA crash on exit coming soon. As for BMD and Avid standalone, we have not been able to reproduce it. SOOOOOOOO......
Anyone that has a MC that crashes on exit or quit, who has a BMD device or an Avid I/O, please respond to me directly at marianna.montague@avid.com and INCLUDE the following:
System specifications
OS
MC version exactly
BMD or Avid I/O device used
any crash logs available?
Hi Marianna,
Thanks for the update.
I've experienced the problem with both standalone and with the Matrox box. MC 2018.4/Win 7 Pro. I have sent crash logs to Avid...twice.
